For my 16th birthday I had a Swing Dancing Party.
LOCATION: We asked my church if we could use the youth room, which had just been redone, so it was super-cool looking, and they said yes. It was cool we were able to use it because it's kind of in a central location that wasn't too far for anyone to get to.
DECORATIONS: To decorate, we just went to Party City and picked up some streamers, a few banners and lots and lots of cheap plates and stuff like that. The room looked really cool when we were finished with it.
FOOD: My mom and I went to Costco and got a bunch of chips, dip, some cake, and other finger foods.
ACTIVITIES: First we just hung out while we waited for everyone to arrive, then the DJ we hired taught us how to swing dance.
After the lesson, there was just lots of swing music, and every one danced for awhile.
Then we did this thing where I stood in the middle of a circle of people and everyone took turns dancing with me. The more creative way a guy cut in, the better.
Later on, we did a pinata. I had never had a pinata before, and so I thought it was about time I did!
All my friends loved the party. I had some people telling me that it was the funnest party they had ever been to. So, I hope this helps someone get some ideas! Have a great party!
